Humidity and ink choices

What tends to smear first when storage rooms swing between wet and dry seasons.

Laptop and notebook on a white desk

Learners writing from Korea often mention monsoon weeks when fresh ink stays tacky longer than expected. The Paper Wallet Record Center treats that as a scheduling problem, not a reason to skip documentation.

Let layers dry before stacking

Our materials brief recommends finishing a sheet, logging the time, and waiting before it meets another surface. Gel pens that feel “dry” to the touch can still offset onto the next card in a humid drawer.

Test strips beat brand loyalty

We ask cohorts to make a three-line test strip with each candidate pen on the same paper stock. Photograph or photocopy the strip after 24 hours. Fancy marketing claims matter less than what your room actually does to the line.

Desiccants are not magic

Silica packs help sealed containers; they do not fix rushed handwriting. If a sheet smears during a verification drill, rewrite it — patching over a blur trains the wrong habit.
